ABOUT ME

I am a fully qualified, BACP registered, Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I hold a degree in Psychology (BScHons), a Certificate in Person-Centred Counselling and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Leeds.

I practice from an Integrative perspective which combines a grounding in the person-centred approach with theory from CBT, psychodynamic therapy and neuroscience. My practice is trauma informed with a deep awareness of somatic and mindfulness based approaches. I blend different theories and models to tailor therapy to the individual client.

Before training to be a psychotherapist, I worked for over 15 years within the media and creative industries, this experience provided me with valuable insight into the challenges of working in both corporate and creative environments. In my practice, I often work with people struggling with stress and anxiety, as well as issues such as imposter syndrome, self-sabotage, a lack of motivation and self-esteem. Through a collaborative process, I endeavour to understand an individual’s underlying beliefs about themselves and the world, identify patterns in behaviour and relationships, and develop healthy coping mechanisms, boundaries and new ways of being.

Facing many of these challenges myself, led me to re-assess my life purpose and consequently train as a psychotherapist. This involved many hours of personal therapy alongside academic studies and working for various counselling charities. I started my private practice several years ago and now find great fulfilment from a profession in which I am always learning, I am deeply connected to others and I am privileged to help people to find a way through the challenges of life.

"Find what brings you joy and go there".
